Sipi Heritage Lodge sitting in the foothills of Mount Elgon consists of a main house and five detached accommodations for our guests, which are all individually designed with a thoughtful perspective on the backdrop of the Falls of Kapsurur. Our guests will experience intimate fireside dining, a comfortable reading lounge, an airy veranda, and a bar stocked with beers, wines, and a fine selection of single malt whisky.
The location of Sipi Heritage Lodge, in the foothills of Mount Elgon, is famous for three spectacular waterfalls, mainly, home to an incredible number of bird species, some of the best Arabica coffee in the world, and magical sunsets.

OUR COFFEE
Inspired by our montane environment, local Ugandan culture, and British roots.
We love coffee. Being located in one of the world’s finest coffee-growing areas our organic Arabica coffee is sourced directly from local farmers and hand-roasted on an open fire by our full time coffee artisans. While each batch is unique you can expect a thick body, rustic caramel sweetness, and fruited notes with lower acidity than most African coffees.
Our kitchen proudly serves specialty, single-origin french-press coffee to our guests. We also sell packaged whole bean and ground coffee at our main reception area. All coffee is packed fresh for every order. If you’re a coffee lover planning to visit Sipi you can explore our coffee plantation, spend a day with our coffee artisans learning their craft, and join a Coffee Tour where you can trace the story of coffee, from bean to cup, while supporting the local community.

Bird watching
The Mountain is home to over 300 birds including Afrotropical highland biome species most especially the Moorland Francolin, Alpine Chat and Moustached Green Tinkerbird.
Community Visits
For those of you deeply interested in the African and Ugandan Culture, this is one thing you should do while on the trip. The people in this region are called Bagisu and are one of the immensely cultural tribes in Uganda
Coffee Plantation Tour
On this tour, you will get to experience the life of a coffee grower. The main type of coffee grown in this region is the Arabica coffee that grows at 1900 meters above sea level.
Abseiling
This one of the most adventurous sports you will engage in on your trip. If you are an adrenaline junkie (in a good way), this is the activity for you. It is a sport where you descend down the slopes of the steep rocks with a friction device and rope.
